Challenges

With a clear mandate of ramping up operations at a faster pace, the organization revisited its hiring strategies to shift from a RPO to recruitment driven by an internal team.

  • Speed of hiring was the key areas of focus. Hence, there was a need to create additional pool of profiles through employee referrals
  • Ability to attract diverse talent and build a strong foundation was a focus area
  • Significant amount of recruiter’s time and effort went into updating the employees on the status of their referrals, which were received and tracked through mailbox
  • Need to brand itself in a very new geography
  • Leverage the culture of the nascent entity and have their employees actively target and convince other candidates to join
  • Blitzscaling meant the need to add capacity to recruiting team in every possible manner
Harris M

We were able to hire faster by bringing quality profiles in through the funnel quickly. Our employees distributing jobs on their social networks meant we had a steady stream of inbound profiles. This cut down our time to fill since we no longer had to invest time in finding talent and then discovering their availability,

Solutions

The TA leader, Ranjith had used RippleHire at his previous organization. As a result,he was quick to get global approvals to use RippleHire as the referral platform. The goal was to unlock the hidden potential of employee referral source, which was underutilized all this while. The solution firstly engaged the workforce using gamification intelligently.Employees reached out to their network over social and micro social media like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and WhatsApp. Automated status update mailers, accessibility of referral status and rejection reasons on employees’ referral significantly improved the operational efficiency. The customer used the referral platform as a standalone product for close to 10 months and then decided to integrate this with their ATS – Taleo. This duration gave them the belief and confidence in the effectiveness of the referral platform. Given the volume of profiles and the outcomes, the customer has a dedicated referral champion who screens profiles and progress in the funnel.

In a bid to boost diversity hiring, they ran a special campaign. Hire a woman candidate and help educate a girl child. The program intelligently married an intrinsic motivator like ‘Cause’ with an organisation goal. This helped tap and engage a different pool of employees.

Metrics

The number of job views since launch was more than 1,70,000, very promising given the fact that the customer had set up their India Operations Centre just 2 years back. The referral platform was instrumental in branding over social media with employees as its brand ambassadors.
