RippleHire: 12 Years of Transforming Talent Acquisition

You know how the best stories often start with a “what if?” Well, ours began in a small corner of Mumbai, with four dreamers and one simple question: “What if one employee could bring one hire?”

Sudarsan Ravi, Pravin Roche, Sucheta Joshi, and Shantaram Waingankar probably didn’t realize they were about to change the future of hiring when they first sat down together. But they shared a beautiful vision – that hiring shouldn’t feel like climbing Mount Everest. It could be effortless, human, and dare we say, actually delightful.

From tiny ripples to big waves 

Here’s a little secret: we didn’t set out to revolutionize the entire hiring world overnight. We started with just one thing – making employee referrals work better. Why? Because we discovered something fascinating: people don’t refer friends to jobs just for the money in their pocket. They do it because they genuinely want to help. Sometimes the simplest insights create the biggest ripples.

But here’s where it gets interesting. Around 2015, we noticed something that bothered us. A lot. Recruiters – these amazing people who literally change lives by connecting talent with opportunity, were struggling with clunky software. It felt like the technology was designed by someone who’d never hired anyone in their life. Bereft of data and support, the ATS they were using became one more task for both recruiters and TA leadership.

The plot twist 

A customer sat us down and said ‘While we love your thought process, you have done PhD in one small area. When underlying ATS systems, global and local are just not a fit, why don’t you help solve the larger problem in hiring?’ We put on our thinking hat and decided to rebuild the whole recruiting system from scratch. We asked ourselves: ‘What if recruiting software actually made recruiters’ lives easier?’

We created a dashboard that doesn’t need a PhD to understand – just simple, color-coded tasks that make sense. Then we got really excited about AI, but not in a scary “robots-are-taking-over” way. We used it to write better job descriptions, catch fraudsters, and even make scheduling less of a headache.

AI that actually gets what recruiters need (because recruiters told us exactly what would help) 

Remember when AI was just a sci-fi concept or part of Interstellar? Now it’s helping our recruiters find amazing talent faster than ever. We’ve added all sorts of neat features over the years:

  • Secure and compliant hiring processes that ensure data protection and peace of mind.
  • A high-velocity hiring engine designed to meet the demands of today’s fast-paced recruitment environment.
